Hi my name is Claire and I am taking part in a running challenge called 100K to Christmas!

I have decided to add an extra little challenge in these last couple of weeks until Christmas to push me out there on that pavement and raise as much money as I can for a cause that is very close to my heart. 

I know it can be an expensive time of year, but I would greatly appreciate anything you can spare for the Mater Little Miracles and together we can help give vulnerable and premature babies the best possible start to life.

Mater Mother's Hospital urgently needs 10 new fetal heart monitoring machines to help save the lives of vulnerable and premature babies. These new machines could help prevent babies being deprived of oxygen during birth, which can be fatal or cause life-long disabilities.

Our own little miracle was an early Christmas present, coming 3 weeks before he was due he needed a little help to get going.

I remember being so so grateful to the staff and the equipment that helped him get strong enough to come home.
I remember feeling torn between my family at home and not wanting to leave him at the hospital.
I remember my heart breaking for all the other Litte Miracles in the unit that needed much longer stays than us.
​And I remember being so worried that we would not be home together for Christmas!? 

But we got our Christmas miracle and after just 5days we were home! I know this isnt the case for some families, so with your help I would love to give a little back to those babies and families that need a longer stay.

So in honour of Ruamoko and all the families that might be facing a Christmas in the hospital or separated from their loved ones I would be so grateful if you could please give whatever you can spare.

I will be running 15km on the 15th for the day our baby surprised us with an early arrival.
​And 20km on the 20th to celebrate the day we got to come home thanks to the amazing support and care from the team at the Mater.
