My Message

On May 1st I embark upon an solo ultra-endurance self-supported bike packing Race Around the Netherlands and while this 1630km journey will be a huge personal challenge, I'd also like to use this opportunity to highlight the awesome work being done by Smiling for Smiddy and the Mater Foundation to rid the world of cancer. I will be dedicating eight 200km segments of the race to stories of strength, adversity and courage that inspire me to keep pushing through the hard times. Two of the eight segments I have reserved for myself, but for the remaining 6 legs of the journey I look to you to shine a light on untold stories that uplift, inspire or pay tribute to special people in your lives. Stories of the unsung hero, the battler, of organisations giving back to their community and of loved ones lost to cancer. Stories of mateship, brotherhood and love. Stories that deserve to be told.

To nominate a person or organisation for a tribute segment, please message me with the details and a photo of the person/s nominated, and all I ask is that you make the commitment of any tax deductible amount to my Smiling for Smiddy fundraising page. No doubt I will have too many stories to share all of them so to make the selection process easier, I will allocate two segments to the top two donations and the remaining 4 segments will be dedicated to stories that touch and inspire me.

The selected stories and accompanying photos will be featured on my social media page, strava, and also on my bike itself to help me draw strength and resilience. In addition to the segments if you would like to see a world without cancer please make a tax deductible donation and support this awesome foundation. All companies that offer financial support will be recognised.
